Q. Can you help me with my website? I want feature X.

Q. Where is the cpanel or other control panel?
A. We don't use cpanel, but there is a control panel here. Please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638.
Q What about Security? I'm confused!
A. Use secure protocols to transfer files. Read this to secure your username and password and files.
A. Learn basic file system permissions.
Q. How do I change my hosting password?
A. At the system prompt, type passwd. The passwd program will prompt you to enter your new password twice. If you aren't familiar with the system prompt, please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638.
Q. How do I send an email to 7 billion people?
A. Please don't try. Per our Acceptable Use Policy, all email lists must be confirmed opt in and have clear unsubscribe instructions. That said, we do permit mass email to be sent through our mail servers. If you have questions, please ask!
Q. Do you have a backup of the site I just deleted?
A. Probably. Please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638 as soon as possible, so that we can help. Don't wait for months.. we don't keep backups forever.
Q. Where is my MySQL database?
A. It may not have been created. We create MySQL databases upon request by the hosting customer. Please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638 and we'll be happy to help.
Q. Can you recommend a shopping cart, payment gateway, counter script, blog service, graphic artist, etc..
A. Yes, most likely. There are some links near the bottom of this page. We have a lot of experience with many different shopping cart applications and payment gateways, local artists, blog software, and even counter scripts! There is no one-size-fits-all application however, so please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638 and we'll be happy to help. Please provide as many details as possible.
Q. Do you offer SSL Certificates?
A. Yes. We have several different SSL products available. Our discounted pricing changes frequently, so it is not published. Please email for details.
Q. Do you offer shared SSL?
A. Yes, free with hosting. To activate shared SSL for your hosting account, please send us an email or give us a call at 1-888-722-8638.
Q. Can I register my domain through Pacific Internet, or can I transfer my domain name registration to you?
A. Yes, most people like to have "everything under one roof", and it makes sense to have your web host handle your domain name registration, DNS and email. Just click "Domain Names" over to the left. We have a nice search & suggest feature that will help you research available domain names.
Q. Can you make it easy for me to update my website?
A. Yes! How we do that depends greatly on the current structure of your website. Send us an email outlining what parts of your site need to be easily edited, and we'll give you a quote for the work.
Q. Do you support Joomla, Wordpress, and other complex php software?
A. Yes. Please let us know and we'll create a MySQL db for you, if you don't already have one. If you are installing on an existing hosting account, or opening a new hosting account, please let us know what your requirements are, so that we can be sure everything you need is available to you.
Q. I don't like this or that, what's the best place to complain?
A. Please email, so we have a record. All issues that are reported will be discussed in our weekly meeting. We value your input.
