Configuring Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

To get to the settings or setup a new account click on Tools in the upper left. In the Tools menu, select Account Settings….

To add a new account, click on New…. To view or edit settings, select the account click the Change… button above.

E-mail Accounts

Basic settings are shown below. Click on More Settings… in the lower right for advanced configuration.

Internet E-mail Settings

Outgoing server settings are shown below. Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Advanced settings are shown below. If the incoming server uses POP3, set the port to 110 or 995. If the incoming server uses IMAP, set the port to 143 or 993. Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). Set the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587. Set Use the following type of encrypted connection to TLS.

Port: 993 (TLS/SSL enabled)
143 (STARTTLS enabled)
Username: user@pacific.net
Password: Email address password
POP3 (Incoming)
Server: pop3.pacific.net
mail.pacific.net
Port: 995 (TLS/SSL enabled)
110 (STARTTLS enabled)
Username: user@pacific.net
Password: Email address password
SMTP (Outgoing)
Server: smtp.pacific.net
Do not use mail.pacific.net!
Port: 587 (STARTTLS enabled)
Username: user@pacific.net
Password: Email address password

Authentication is always required.

Usernames are case-sensitive and should be lowercase.
